Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: NATR), a global leader in natural health and wellness, has renewed its impactful partnership with the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah by extending its scholarship initiative. The Nature’s Sunshine Eccles School Scholarship aims to empower economically disadvantaged students through education and opportunity.
Nature’s Sunshine has pledged $200,000 over the next four years to fully fund multiple scholarships for first-generation college students. These scholarships will be administered through the Opportunity Scholars program, which supports individuals who are the first in their families to attend college.
“As a leader in health and wellness, we’re committed to helping people reach their potential,” said Terrence Moorehead, CEO of Nature’s Sunshine. “Education transforms lives. Supporting first-generation students aligns with our mission to foster personal empowerment and well-being.”
The scholarship provides more than just financial support. Recipients will gain access to a robust network of mentors, tutors, academic advisors, and program coordinators through the Opportunity Scholars program at the Eccles School. This holistic support system helps ensure student success both academically and personally.
“As a first-generation college student myself, I know how life-changing access to higher education can be,” shared Kurt Dirks, Dean of the David Eccles School of Business. “This partnership with Nature’s Sunshine not only transforms individual lives—it uplifts entire communities.”
Originally launched in the 2021–2022 academic year, the Nature’s Sunshine Eccles School Scholarship is an extension of the company’s Impact Foundation—a charitable arm created in response to the social equity discussions of 2020. This renewal signifies Nature’s Sunshine’s continued dedication to diversity, inclusion, and real change through action.
The scholarship will continue through at least the 2027–2028 academic year, providing hope and opportunity for future generations of students. As part of this long-term investment in education, Nature’s Sunshine is committed to shaping future business leaders from all backgrounds.
Founded in 1917, the Eccles School offers nine undergraduate majors, four MBA programs, and a rich array of graduate and executive education options. With over 6,000 students and a focus on real-world learning, the school fosters entrepreneurship and leadership through 12 specialized centers and institutes.
