Xion International Acquisition by Zinzino

Zinzino Negotiates Xion International Co-Ownership

Zinzino has launched formal talks—Zinzino Xion Co-Ownership—to acquire a 35% stake in Andorra-based Xion International Group. This strategic move aims to secure a sustainable supply of Omega-3 oil and high-quality spirulina by leveraging Xion’s cutting-edge photobioreactor technology.

Strategic Joint Venture for Algae Production

By joining forces with Xion, Zinzino will co-develop large-scale bioreactor facilities to cultivate nutrient-dense microalgae. Xion’s award-winning system replicates nature’s principles to produce spirulina in a clean, efficient process. This collaboration guarantees Zinzino direct access to proprietary algae strains and intellectual property, reinforcing its BalanceOil+ supply chain.

Strengthening Zinzino’s Product Portfolio

Zinzino’s rapid global growth has driven increased demand for its Omega-3–rich supplements. Through Zinzino Xion Co-Ownership, the company will:

  • Secure long-term raw materials without depleting marine resources

  • Enhance brand protection by owning key algae production rights

  • Scale spirulina-based innovations introduced via the 2024 Xelliss acquisition

Launching PhytoFerm: A Pure-Play Algae Venture

As part of the negotiation, Zinzino and Xion plan to establish PhytoFerm—a specialized algae company focused on next-generation nutritional solutions. Combining photobioreactors with fermentation on Xion’s HYBRID platform, PhytoFerm will produce Omega-3 and other oils with minimal carbon footprint.

Visionary Leadership and Sustainable Growth

Dag Bergheim Pettersen, CEO of Zinzino, emphasizes sustainability:

“Fish oil is finite. Through expanded collaboration with Xion, we secure vital raw materials for our products while reducing our environmental impact.”

Tino Bacchetta, Xion’s founder, adds:

“PhytoFerm will set the standard for clean, scalable nutritional oils using our advanced bioreactor technology.”

A Milestone in Zinzino’s Expansion Roadmap

Following recent acquisitions—including VMA Life, Enhanzz, Xelliss, ACN, and others—Zinzino Xion Co-Ownership marks a pivotal step in securing raw materials, protecting intellectual assets, and reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in direct-sale wellness products. Negotiations are expected to conclude in the second half of 2025.
